3 Land Tejas Developments Earn Spot Among Nation’s Top-Selling
Following a year that saw overall home sales catapult 85 percent, three Land Tejas communities have been included on the 2018 top-selling master-planned communities list released Jan. 3 by Robert Charles Lesser & Co (RCLCO).
Two of the communities also were ranked on the annual tally compiled by John Burns Real Estate Consulting that was also released Jan. 3.
Harmony in Spring placed No. 28 on the 25thannual RCLCO report, with home sales increasing 94 percent. Builders sold 425 homes in 2018 compared with 219 homes sold in 2017. The community was listed at No. 31 on the John Burns Real Estate Consulting report.
Balmoral in Humble earned the No. 42 spot with 334 homes sold in 2018. The community — which saw the opening of the first crystal clear lagoon in Texas last year — opened for home sales in 2017, selling 75 that first year for a year-over-year increase of 345 percent. The John Burns report placed Balmoral at No. 47.
“The announcement of the lagoon in Balmoral, the billboards and the excitement surrounding it definitely impacted home sales in Balmoral and will continue to do so,” said David Jarvis, Senior Vice President with John Burns Real Estate Consulting.
Landing at No. 43 on the RCLCO list was Lago Mar in Texas City. Celebrating its grand opening in 2017, the community saw 321 home sales in 2018 versus 137 the previous year, an increase of 134 percent. Last October, Land Tejas announced the state’s largest and first public-access crystal clear lagoon will be built in Lago Mar. The lagoon will measure approximately 12 acres and will be the showcase feature of a 70-acre, mixed-use entertainment destination.
“These are all highly amenitized developments, and the innovative approach for which Land Tejas is known for is driving home sales,” said Tim Johnson, Director of Community Sales and Marketing for Land Tejas.
Harmony and Lago Mar were both included on RCLCO’s mid-year report of 2018 home sales, ranking No. 30 and No. 36, respectively.
