Land Tejas Announces Employee Promotions
Land Tejas, a Houston-based firm celebrating 21 years of residential development, recently promoted two employees to key positions within the company.
James Henrie has assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer. Henrie joined Land Tejas in 2001 as a Project Manager where he oversaw the development of some of Land Tejas’ largest master-planned communities, including nationally-ranked Canyon Lakes West in Cypress. Most recently, Henrie has served as the company’s Director of Land Acquisition and Development. In this role, he has been responsible for all land development and acquisition matters including feasibilities, proformas, budget management, construction oversight and investor relations. In addition to these responsibilities, Henrie is now responsible for the company’s growth, operations, sales and marketing activities.
“As Land Tejas grows, so do the opportunities for individual growth,” said Jennifer Keller, President of Land Tejas. “James has been a phenomenal asset to the company since the day he was hired. His knowledge will be invaluable as we work to expand our signature brand of communities throughout the Houston area.”
Land Tejas also has promoted Melanie Mangel to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Since joining Land Tejas in 2005, Ms. Mangel has served as Controller with direct responsibility for all accounting, land transactions, cash management and office management matters. In addition to her current responsibilities, Ms. Mangel will now be responsible for all financial planning, financial reporting and banking relations.
“Melanie is incredibly talented,” Keller said. “Her ability to add value to every aspect of our business makes her an invaluable member of our team.”
Land Tejas is one of the largest developers of master-planned communities in the greater Houston area. The company is responsible for the development of Miramesa at Canyon Lakes West, Lago Mar, Sierra Vista, Wedgewood Forest, Vanbrooke, Etteridge and Balmoral.
