Land Tejas Breaks Ground on Lago Mar Amenity Complex
(Texas City, Texas – Jan. 26, 2017) Land Tejas officially broke ground Wednesday on a premier amenity center in one of its newest developments, Lago Mar.
Texas City Mayor Pro Tem Phil Roberts, members of the La Marque Chamber of Commerce, representatives of Land Tejas and others gathered in the 2,033-acre development to commemorate the occasion.
“This is a great day for the City of Texas City,” said Texas City Mayor Pro Tem Phil Roberts. “We have been working with Land Tejas for quite some time and we are really excited about Lago Mar — not just for Texas City, but all of Galveston County.”
The recreation complex includes a resort-style pool, playground and a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse with a well-appointed great room, catering kitchen and workout room. It is expected to open this summer.
Lago Mar features designs from Anglia Homes, CastleRock Communities, Censeo Homes, D.R. Horton, Gehan Homes, Long Lake and Westin Homes, which recently opened the community’s first model home. Pricing is from the $220s and sales are ongoing.
“Lago Mar has attracted buyer interest from the beginning,” said Jennifer Keller, President and Chief Operating Officer of Land Tejas. “People are attracted to its location along Interstate 45 and the chance to own a new home while enjoying the Bay Area charm of Texas City.”
Lago Mar is expected to be home to 4,400 families when complete. Young residents are zoned to schools in the Dickinson Independent School District, including the new Lobit Elementary School and Lobit Middle School.
