Land Tejas has lined up 15 to builders to build homes in the first phase of Sunterra, a community in the Katy area planned for 2,200 homes. The 1,039-acre community, along Clay and Pitts roads, will have a Crystal Lagoon, an amenity that has helped drive sales at its Balmoral and Lago Mar communities.
“We’re excited to have so many well known and reputable home builders opening in the first phase of development in Sunterra,” James Henrie, partner and chief operating officer of Land Tejas, said in an announcement. “Interest in Sunterra has been extremely high and because of that, we wanted to offer a broad mix of home designs and builders so we can accommodate as many potential homeowners as possible.”
Thousands of potential buyers have registered on the interest list for the community, which is expected to begin home sales later this year. The first phase encompasses 870 acres and will offer houses from the $200,000 to the $500,000s.
The builders are Adams Homes, Ashton Woods Homes, CastleRock Communities, Chesmar Homes, Colina Homes, DR Horton, Empire Communities, Gehan Homes, Hamilton Thomas Homes, Highland Homes, HistoryMaker Homes, Perry Homes, Pulte Homes, Shea Homes and Westin Homes.
The Katy location, near Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway and Katy Independent School District schools, has helped generate interest, Henrie said. The neighborhood is within both Harris and Waller counties.
Sunterra will feature homes bordering community lakes and several gated sections.
