4 Land Tejas Developments Earn Spot Among Nation’s Top-Selling

Strong home sales — many of which fueled by Crystal Lagoons® amenities — have led to four Land Tejas communities being ranked among the nation’s 50 top-selling, according to Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO), which recently released its annual mid-year report.

Balmoral in Humble — which has seen home sales rocket up since its 2-acre lagoon opened in late 2018 — reported 409 new-home sales during the first half of 2020, a 143 percent year-over-year increase. The RCLCO report ranks Balmoral No. 12.

“The ‘Lagoon Effect’ is real,” said Tim Johnson, Director of Community Sales and Marketing for Land Tejas. “People love the idea of a tropical resort in their backyard. We’ve seen sales escalate in Balmoral ever since we announced the lagoon and now that it’s open and people can see how beautiful it is, sales have climbed even higher.”

Sales in Sierra Vista/Sterling Lakes also have climbed since last year, with the community landing at No. 29 on the RCLCO list with 261 sales, a 67 percent increase. Early this year, Land Tejas announced a 4-acre lagoon was planned for the community, located along the Highway 288 corridor.

Home sales also climbed in Lago Mar in Texas City, jumping 41 percent this year to 216 sales. A 12-acre lagoon — the largest in Texas — opened to residents in June. The public will have access to the lagoon during Summer Lagoonfest Wednesdays through Sundays July 15 through Sept. 13. Lago Mar finished at No. 45 on the RCLCO report.

Another Land Tejas community — Harmony in Spring — tied for No. 37 among the nation’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities.

“Land Tejas was well-represented on the list, which included 10 Houston-area developments,” Johnson said. “To be this competitive in such a dynamic housing market is indicative that home buyers appreciate our innovative approach to master-planned development.”

Land Tejas has 11 active communities found throughout the Houston area and has developed more than 16,500 acres during its 23-year history.
