In 2018, Land Tejas set the record for the number lots — 16 — donated to the Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Home fundraiser. Each year, two Benefit homes are built utilizing donated materials, labor and services from GHBA members. The homes are sold for market value and the proceeds are donated to HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

Land Tejas Cares
Lending a hand to support neighborhood schools and aid local organizations assisting those who need it most is a responsibility Land Tejas has taken seriously since the opening of its very first community
From setting up a trust to fund projects for schools zoned to Land Tejas communities to sponsoring local fundraisers, we have invested in the counties, cities and towns that have welcomed our communities to create a legacy of giving that extends from the present to future generations
Some of the programs Land Tejas has founded and organizations it has sponsored include:
GHBA Benefit Home
Adopt a School Program
The Adopt a School program was established in 1997 by Land Tejas to provide a helping hand to schools that will be impacted by the additional families a new development brings to the area. The initiative provides funds for the purchase of educational items and the support of programs to schools zoned to Land Tejas’ many communities through a fee assessed at the time a house is sold. Funds are administered by each community’s homeowners association’s board of directors.
Cy-Fair College Nursing Program
A substantial donation by Land Tejas in 2006 allowed Cy-Fair College to greatly expand its Associate Degree Nursing Program to include additional nursing faculty and triple the number of students admitted, helping to meet a critical nursing shortage in the Cy-Fair community.
Muscular Dystrophy Association
Land Tejas has been a proud sponsor of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Houston. Over the years, the company has been the title sponsor of a number of fundraisers, including golf tournaments and Taste of Tejas events. MDA provides support and services to children and adults affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS or related muscle-debilitating diseases, as well as raising funds for research to find a cure for these debilitating diseases.
