Canyon Lakes West has for a third year been ranked among the nation’s 20 top-selling developments, according to two independent research firms.
Builders sold 440 homes in the Cypress development, which includes Miramesa at Canyon Lakes West, the final section of Canyon Lakes West that celebrated its grand opening in October. Canyon Lakes West is tied for No. 16 on a list compiled by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) and is tied for No. 18 on the report released recently by John Burns Real Estate Consulting.
“Nearly half of Canyon Lakes West’s sales in 2015 were within Miramesa,” said Al Brende, co-owner and found of Land Tejas, developer of Canyon Lakes West and Miramesa. “Buyers have responded to the Cypress location, incredible range of home choices and access to amenities in its sister communities.”
David Jarvis, senior vice president with John Burns Real Estate Consulting, agrees.
“Canyon Lakes West’s placement on the list of the nation’s top-selling communities is well-deserved,” he said. “It’s well-located, well-executed, has an excellent school district and a good line-up of builders giving people what they want — that leads to a great year in sales.”
Canyon Lakes West first appeared on the national radar in 2014 when it was ranked No. 17 by RCLCO for 2013 sales. The company ranked it No. 20 on last year’s list for 2014 home sales. Canyon Lakes West was ranked No. 22 last year for 2014 sales by John Burns Real Estate Consulting and No. 18 in 2014 for 2013 sales.
Canyon Lakes West is the only Houston development on both lists to show a positive gain in the number of home sales during 2015.
Home prices in Canyon Lakes West start in the $180,000s, and pricing in Miramesa begins in the $220,000s. Crews are continuing work on a five-acre recreation center in Miramesa that will offer resort swimming, tennis, sand volleyball, a dog park, fitness facilities and clubhouse. While Miramesa’s recreation center is under construction, residents will have access to the entire Stone Gate and Canyon Lakes West family of amenities.
