Cy-Fair Summer Camps Keep Kids Learning

Posted on Wednesday, May 23, 2018

Miramesa students are lucky to attend schools in the highly regarded Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District and even luckier to have the opportunity to attend one of the district’s fun and educational summer camps.

Registration is open for both Club Rewind summer camps and a variety of Cy-Fair fun camps. Camps are available for incoming K-8 students.

The Club Rewind program offers weekly themed summer camp sessions from June through Aug. 10 at Smith Middle School, 10300 Warner Smith Boulevard in Cypress, and Campbell Middle School, 11415 Bobcat Road in Houston. Each session features a hands-on activity related to the weekly theme, reading time, games and other academic and art activities.

Field trips are included in the price of the camps and will allow children to explore the Oil Ranch and the Downtown Aquarium as well as attend a movie and skating at Champions Rollerworld.

Camp hours are 6:15 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. The cost is $150 per week, $100 for students on free or reduced lunch programs. A $35 registration fee will be charged. Online registration and more information can be found here.

The district also will host weekly fun camps at Arnold Middle School, 11111 Telge Road in Cypress. From June 11-20, students can participate in camps covering a variety of topics including art, science, dance, cooking and sports. Camps are divided by grade level.

Some of the more creative offerings include an opportunity for sixth-grade students to explore Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley, a Jedi Training Academy for second and third grade students, Nerf battles for fourth- and fifth-grade students and a paleontology camp for incoming kindergarten and first-grade students. Camps are $150 per session and take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here to find out more.

During the school year, Miramesa students attend Postma Elementary School and Anthony Middle School — both of which were awarded an A rating from Niche.com, as well as award-winning Cypress Springs High School.
