For the second year in a row, our own Cypress Springs High School has ranked among the top-performing high schools in the nation, earning a bronze medal on the annual U.S. News and World Report “America’s Best High Schools” list.

This year, the magazine ranked 20,548 public schools in all 50 states. Only the top 5,948 were awarded medals. Bronze medals are awarded based on students’ commendable performances on state-mandated tests and higher than average graduation rate.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary last year, the high school offers both AP classes and dual credit courses in conjunction with Lone Star College. Students routinely score above average on state tests. The U.S. News and World Report list also ranked Cypress Springs No. 256 out of all public high schools in Texas.

When not in the classroom, Cypress Springs Panthers excel in athletics programs including a nationally recognized track and field team. The girls’ sprint team has finished the season in the top 10 in each of the three sprint relays over the last three years. Students also have opportunities to join a number of clubs including five honor societies

Cypress Springs High School is part of the award-winning Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. Younger Miramesa students attend Posta Elementary School and Anthony Middle School.

Miramesa is located south of U.S. 290 on Fry Road in Cypress. In addition to access to great schools, our top-selling community features a recreation complex with a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse, a resort-style pool, sports courts and a dog park.
