The great Dickinson ISD schools Lago Mar students attend are about to get even better! The district recently released its long-awaited strategic plan, outlining a series of goals that will benefit students now and in the future.
A coalition of teachers, students, administrators, parents and community members began working on the plan in 2019 with the overarching goal of ensuring a culture of high performance that prepares students for the next grade level and life beyond high school. Despite being shut down by Covid in 2020, the 80-member design team continued to work via Zoom. The finished product was approved this year.
The district identified five goals they believe will help all students at all schools. The goals include developing effective teaching and learning experiences for all students, providing a physically and emotionally safe environment for learning, making family and community partnerships a priority, recruiting and developing a diverse and effective staff, and providing operational services to support the success of student learning.
We commend everyone involved in this important endeavor and look forward to seeing the fruits of their labor for years to come.
