Holiday Lighting Displays Not to be Missed

Posted on Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Christmas lights are one of the most wonderfully nostalgic parts of the holiday season. What kind of Christmas would it be without the colorful twinkling lights that turn the entire city into a glistening holiday wonderland? Come with us and take a trip through the best of the most brilliant lighting displays in the greater Houston area.

Our first stop is Magical Winter Lights, the largest lantern festival of its kind in the United States. Throughout the month of December, explore 20 acres of larger-than-life lantern exhibits that take you on a journey around the world in one night. Between cultural performances, carnival rides and games, arts and crafts, and the lantern attractions themselves, Magical Winter Lights is a must-see this holiday season.

Stroll through the beautiful Houston Zoo with stunning lighting displays to light your way during Zoo Lights. Journey through the Holiday Train Village, the Enchanted Forest and around the giant Holiday Tree for a night of holiday cheer!

River Oaks is often celebrated as the best neighborhood in Houston for Christmas light displays. For a traditional Christmas light excursion, drive out and watch the mansions and estates light up during the month of December. River Oaks is so well-known that driving around on the weekend can get a little crowded – try to avoid Saturday evenings when it’s busiest.

These are just a few of the many brilliant holiday displays throughout the Houston area. Whether you drive-by or walk into and explore these beautiful holiday displays, don’t forget that sometimes the most memorable displays are the ones back at home.
