Miramesa Schools Earn Top Marks

Posted on Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Public schools serving Miramesa reported high marks on the 2015 accountability ratings released recently by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), with all campuses receiving a rating of “Met Standard,” the highest awarded by the agency.

In addition, two schools earned distinctions for excellence. Students at Anthony Middle School posted strong enough scores on the state-mandated STARR test to earn an academic achievement distinction in reading/ELA. The school also received merits in postsecondary readiness and top 25 percent student progress.

Cypress Springs High School also won accolades for student performance, with distinctions in top 25 percent student progress and top 25 percent closing performance gaps.

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District also received the coveted “Met Standard” rating.

School ratings are based on STAAR test scores, year-to-year student progress, closing performance gaps and post-secondary readiness, including graduation rates and diplomas. More information can be found on the TEA website, http://tea.texas.gov.
