Alan Brende has been actively involved with Land Tejas since 2022, working closely alongside his father, the late Al Brende, to gain in-depth knowledge of the land development business. As Co-President he will cover a broad range of corporate policy and expansion including builder partnerships and land acquisition.

His experience spans key areas such as land acquisition, navigating the entitlement process through finished retail lots, and overseeing the management of residential communities through full build-out. Alan Brende served as Managing Director and Private Wealth Advisor at Olympic Wealth Advisors (Ameriprise Financial) for the past 23 years. He was named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list from 2018 to 2025.

Melanie Ohl brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience in land development and real estate operations and has been a cornerstone of Land Tejas for over 20 years. Since joining the company in 2005, she has played a critical role in the firm’s growth and evolution, advancing from Controller to Co-President through her deep operational expertise and commitment to long-term partnerships.

As Co-President, Ms. Ohl provides strategic leadership across Land Tejas, with responsibility for financial planning, reporting, and banking relationships. She is also instrumental in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with homebuilders, lenders, and key industry partners, helping to drive successful project execution and sustained growth. Her collaborative approach and deep industry knowledge have made her a trusted partner across the development community.

Prior to joining Land Tejas, Ms. Ohl held leadership roles including Controller, Accounting Manager, and Supervisor for a variety of businesses in the Houston metropolitan area, where she developed a strong foundation in financial management and operational oversight.

As Vice President of Finance & Land Development, James works closely with company leadership to set financial strategy, oversee land acquisition, and partner with the Director of Land Development to execute the development plan for each community. With nearly 30 years of experience in real estate finance and development, he brings deep market insight and disciplined financial leadership to every phase of the development lifecycle. James has played an integral role in the acquisition and development of more than 10,000 acres across several large-scale master-planned communities, including Sunterra and Marvida. His expertise includes financial structuring, underwriting, entitlements, budgeting, and risk management, and he collaborates closely with investors, municipal partners, and internal teams to deliver projects that drive long-term value.

Harrison Bibb, Director of Builder Relations. As Director of Builder Relations of Land Tejas, Mr. Bibb oversees residential lot sales.  Mr. Bibb is also heavily involved in land acquisition, land entitlement, investor relations, HOA management, MUD creation, bond sales, contract negotiations, and marketing. Before joining Land Tejas, Mr. Bibb worked for 3 years at  Glenmont Development, a large residential developer in Houston.  At Glenmont, Mr. Bibb served as COO and oversaw land acquisition, entitlement, lot sales and lot construction for several large master planned communities.  Prior to Glenmont, Mr. Bibb worked for 10 years at Perry Homes, one of the largest privately-owned homebuilders in the United States. At Perry Homes, Mr. Bibb served as Vice President of Land Acquisition and Senior Legal Counsel in the legal department. Mr. Bibb is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and South Texas College of Law in Houston.  When not working, Mr. Bibb enjoys traveling with his wife and son, fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast, water sports, and hunting.
